PCL Construction Jumps to #60 on Fortune’s “100 Best Companies to Work For” List
DENVER, March 3, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Fortune magazine has named PCL Construction to its “100 Best Companies to Work For” list for the 11th consecutive year. PCL, a top general contractor in North America, ranked number 60 on the list this year, up seven positions from last year’s ranking, and is the only Colorado company to make this prestigious list.
“To be named to Fortune’s “100 Best Companies to Work For” list for 11 years is an accomplishment we’re extremely proud of and a true testament to the culture of PCL,” said Shaun Yancey, president and COO of US Operations. “At PCL, we’re passionate about the work we do, as well as about ensuring that all employees have the resources they need to build upon their future.”
PCL has consistently made Fortune’s “100 Best Companies to Work For” list since 2005 because of the organization’s employee-ownership model, dynamic culture, wellness initiatives, and philanthropic efforts. Beyond offering a comprehensive benefits package and professional development programs, PCL encourages employees to achieve work-life balance by offering a flexible working schedule, gym reimbursement, and employee wellness programs, along with the opportunity to attend events and celebrations throughout the year.
Two-thirds of a company’s survey score is based on the results of the Trust Index Employee Survey, which is sent to a random sample of employees from each company. This survey asks questions related to employees’ attitudes about management’s credibility, overall job satisfaction, and camaraderie. The other third is based on responses to the Culture Audit, which includes detailed questions about pay and benefit programs and a series of open-ended questions about hiring practices, methods of internal communication, training, recognition programs, and diversity efforts.
